Terms and Conditions for Energy Performance Certificates

  1. We will arrange a mutually convenient time to conduct an inspection of your property.
  2. The fee for conducting this inspection and providing you with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is £55.00. We do not charge VAT. This is payable by bank transfer or Paypal and must be received at least 24 hours before the time of our inspection. We will provide you with payment details when you book. The inspection will be conducted by a qualified energy assessor.
  3. Following our inspection, we will provide you with your EPC by e-mail, within two working days of that inspection. If we do not, we will refund you £1.00 for every day that it is late up to the full price of the EPC.
  4. Confirmation of dispatch of the EPC is from our email system. We cannot be held responsible for electronic errors or delays, but will provide further copies of the EPC, by email, free of charge, where reasonably requested.
  5. We can provide you with additional hard copies of the EPC for £10.00 each by normal post.
  6. If you have to postpone your inspection, you must let us know 24 hours in advance. If you do not, you may forfeit your fee. If you need to change the time of the appointment on the day of the inspection, you should let us know at least two hours in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

  8. If you decide to cancel your inspection after paying, you must give us at least 48 hours notice. If you do not you may forfeit the full fee. Where you do give the required notice we will refund you less a £5.00 administration charge (for refund by bank transfer), or £10 administration charge (for refund by Paypal.
  9. The £55.00 fee applies to all properties built after circa 1900, of a standard type and  construction and up to 2500 square feet. If your property does not fall into this category you must contact us to check the price. In some circumstances a higher fee may apply but we will always advise you of the exact amount before you commit to purchase.
  10. We are registered with the Information Commissioner and will treat your data in accordance with the Data Protection Act. We will not pass on your data to any third parties other that the energy assessor, unless specifically authorised by you. Data relating to your property’s EPC may be available on a public website.
  11. You recognise that electronic communications may not always be completely secure and may carry risks.
  12. In the event of any claim by any party, the limit of such claim shall be the maximum fee for this contract.
