The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) house price report shows that Northern Ireland is out-performing the UK average. Annual house prices to September 23 rose by 2.1% whilst the UK as a whole dropped by 0.1%. Some other stats from the report are:

  • The NI average house price is now £180,000
  • The UK average house price is now £271,000
  • Scotland saw the largest increase at 2.5%
  • Rents rose nationally by 6.1%, the biggest since records began
  • The 0.1% national fall is the first since 2012

The industry is largely, but cautiously optimistic for 2024. With inflation coming down and interest rates settling, many believe that this will contribute to a moderate increase in house prices next year.

Even better news for home sellers is that you can now sell your home for just 0.5% inc VAT* with Key One Property.
