A Belfast tenant who refused to pay a penny towards damages, gardening and late rent charges has lost £517.89 to the landlord in a deposit dispute. We always recommend to both landlords and tenants to try and negotiate a settlement for any claim over a deposit where possible. In part this is because the deposit adjudication process takes so long. In fact, in this case it took four months for the case to be fully settled via TDSNI and for each party to receive their share of the deposit. We had actually negotiated a settlement between the parties, a service that is completely free of charge for our landlords on our managed service, but then the tenant decided not to honour the agreement. Had the tenant done so, they would have received their share of the deposit back in July!

Landlords - Deposit dispute management is all part of our service, saving you considerable time and stress.
