Interest rate reduction - every little helps!

Interest rates have been reduced again by 0.25% to 4.5%. This will be welcome news to those with mortgages, particularly landlords who have still not increased rents to account for the significant rises over the last few years. The vast majority of our landlords have increased rents well below the market rate for sitting tenants - despite being branded "greedy" by the media and pressure groups.

January has been a slower than usual month for rentals, and we could possibly see a slowing down of rental pries this quarter. That may in part be as a result of less tenants moving, as their landlords cut them a fairer deal on rent.

The BOE hinted at further rate reductions, and many experts are predicting a further 0.25% cut in March or April. But...the Bank of England are concerned about inflation and this could stymie rate reductions or even lead to the bank raising them again.
