Why are estate agents becoming such nosey parkers?

Posted: 16/10/2017

Did you know that by law, estate agents must carry out checks on property buyers, as well as sellers? Under new anti-money laundering regulations which came out in June this year, if you are buying a property, agents are legally required to conduct due diligence checks on you. That means getting ID, confirming who you are, and even asking questions about your finances. Of course, the government managed to make a complete shambles of it by bringing in the legislation before any guidance was in place. They are still trying to sort it out. In the meantime get used to agents being very nosey - they have to, it's the law! If you are sellling a property did you know that we have a £500 set sale fee?
