Rent Controls Rejected - for now

Rent controls which were previously so disastrous have been rejected by the current Conservative government. The housing minister, Robert Jenrick agreed that rent controls were "negative for both landlords and tenants" and said that they were off the table. However, Labour are keen on them, along with a number of other draconian measures which would further erode landlords' rights, so it may yet be back on the table if Labour win the upcoming general election. One saving grace for Northern Ireland is that housing matters are devolved, so even if they are brought in in England, we should be spared.....
