Estate agency has long had its share of bad apples which has given the industry a bad name. That's frustrating for the agents who try to bring integrity to their work, so it's reassuring that the Property Ombudsman (TPO) has expelled no less than seven agents lately. The reasons vary, but it should demonstrate to anyone using a TPO member that their standards are high. Property agents must by law be a member of one of the approved redress schemes so cannot legally operate if expelled. This comes at a time when we are seeing an increase in rent scams, so it is vital that agents are trusted by those who use them. Regardless of whether you are buying, selling, letting out or renting, you should always check to see if the agent you are dealing with is a member of an approved redress scheme. At Key One Property we are members of the TPO. Key One Property offer landlords low fees for both letting and management, and we charge no VAT saving you 20% !
