The Private Tenancies Bill as proposed for Northern Ireland will be a major shake-up in the private rental sector. Whilst there are some good things such as better safety standards and fast-track evictions, there are also some not so good things. This includes having to give a tenant 8 week's notice and trying to limit deposits to one month's rent, both vety unbalanced proposals. But as we have seen time after time, tenants just end up paying for these "improvements".  Let's hope a sensible compromise is reached.......
