Tenancy deposit disputes are down according to TDS, most likely due to tenants moving less during the pandemic, however cleaning remains the number one issue. 42% of deposit disputes in Northern Ireland involved cleaning, although we must be a cleaner bunch that the rest of the country as that is the lowest figure in the UK. Part of our letting service at Key One Property is to provide a detailed condition report at the start of the tenancy, and if we are managing, a detailed check-out report at the end. It then makes it relatively easy to determine the differences, if any. But we also conduct a pre-check out inspection to advise the tenants what they have to do to ensure there is no claim on their deposit. This benefits both tenant and landlord. The cost of this is zero - it's all included in our management service. Also included for no extra charge is any dispute resolution including submitting detailed claims to deposit ajudicators where required. All for a low lonthly fee and no VAT.
